Connect a domain you already own

You already own a domain if you bought it from a provider and can access its management account. Connecting it to ORYSITE does not necessarily require transferring it to another provider.

In your client space, first open the relevant project. Some buttons only appear when that step is available.

Step by step

  1. Open “Website address” and select “I already own a domain”. Enter the domain without a page path.

  2. Enter the provider if known. State whether email or a website already uses the domain, then choose “Connect this domain”. Select “Not sure” if needed.

  3. For help, choose “Request guidance”. ORYSITE will explain the required changes. Never send account passwords in a ticket.

  4. If handling it yourself, open “Configure DNS myself”. DNS settings direct your domain to the right service. Copy only the records shown for your project.

  5. Start with the indicated TXT verification, then choose “Verify my connection”. Connection and certificate records follow. Check the status again; changes may take time to apply.

Good to know

Preserve MX, SPF and DKIM email records. Changing an existing domain’s settings can affect its previous website. If unsure, ask for help before deleting anything.
